The visit with the social worker last night went swimmingly. She said she thought we'd make great parents and she didn't foresee any problems with the adoption. YAY us! She's coming back next week for the second home visit and to interview each of us separately.
I already feel like a huge weight is lifted, knowing that we've actually started real actual forward movement. She said the report will be done by the end of July. Then we just need to gather a bunch more documents, send in our immigration forms, get fingerprinted, and send everything off to the agency in San Francisco that will be handling the international part. They'll get everything translated and sent off to Russia, and before you know it, we'll have a referral!!
I had a lovely time at knitting club at Ewe'll Love It this afternoon. Then dinner with my FlyLady friends at Margarita's in Nashua. Good food; good talk.
Red Top is still growing and I'll still on the hunt for the perfect needles to do the Leaf Lace Shawl. The Addi Turbos were too smooth, the Crystal Palace Bamboos weren't smooth enough. Next I'm going to try the old mainstay: Denise plastic! I'll keep you posted.
P.S. Thanks for the emails wishing us luck on the home study!!!!
