Since I've been away from blogging for quite a while, I have a fair amount of catching up to do. It will take me a bit to get photos of everything together, so here's a preview.
I've been completely obsessed with socks over the last few months. I've finished 9 pairs that I can think of off the top of my head. Four pairs were gifts:
* Trekking socks (dark blues, greens, burgandys) for Dad for last Hanukah -- K3P1 rib leg; garter SR heel; stockinette foot, figure 8 toe-up
* Koigu KPPM socks (autumn colors -- orange, brown) for Mom for last Hanukah -- Crusoe from Knitty.com; SR heel; top down kitchener toe
* Lang Jawoll socks (red) for my sister for last Hanukah -- Baby cable rib from Sensational Knitted Socks; tubular cast-on; SR heel; top down kitch toe
*Patons Classic Merino Wool socks (beige) for Mike for last Hanukah -- stockinette; tubular cast on; kitch toe
The rest were for me. All of them were tubular cast on, SR heel, and kitchner toe:
* Lorna's Laces (#045 -- cranberry) -- lace vine from Socks Socks Socks
* Koigu KPM (royal blue "solid") -- one of the 4- or 5- stitch rib patterns from Sensational Knitted Socks (can't remember the name and the book's not handy)
* Meilenweit Multieffekt (#3050 -- green and blue) -- stockinette
* Lorna's Laces (#701 -- purple club) -- Gentlemen's Sock from Knitting Vintage Socks
* Baby Ull (pale yellow/burgundy red/black) -- "fair isle" stranded pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks
I've also completed two sweaters:
"Hjalte" for Mike -- in denim blue Elsbeth Lavold Silky Wool; pattern from Knitter's Spring '05
"Cardigan with Clout" for me -- in vanilla Knitpicks Merino Style; pattern from Family Circle Easy Plus Size Knits
And somewhere in there I managed to finish a Kerry Blue shawl in grey sport weight merino/silk from Ellen's 1/2 Pint Farm. It's all done and just needs blocking.
On the needles at the moment -- yes I'll get these up on the sidebar eventually:
* 4 mohair lacy scarves for women who've been helping us complete our adoption (camel brown kidsilk haze, white SRK ovation, purple kid seta, and black kidsilk night)
* Celtic Cardigan by Oat Couture -- using Knitpicks Merino Style in color "storm" which is a very dark teal -- back and both fronts done; 1/2 of first sleeve done
* Mike's Manly Socks (Trekking #102 -- photo on the sidebar)
* Mike's blue worsted socks (Patons Classic Merino Wool -- #77116 denim marl)
* Mosaic socks (Baby Ull royal bule and white)
* Spring Blossom Shawl (Jaggerspun Zephyr in light blue)
* secret knitting about which I cannot post (for now) :-)
Of course, there are several things percolating in the back of my mind as well. I'll talk about them some other day!
Can't have a post without photos, can I? Here are Heidi and her friend Nadia (for whom we're dogsitting for a while) playing in the snow a couple of weeks ago:
